Purdue More Than Doubles Alcorn State

The Purdue Boilermakers are ranked No. 14 and firing on all cylinders early in the season. The winless Alcorn State Braves' visit to Mackey Arena didn't appear to pose much of a threat, but that doesn't make the final score any less jaw-dropping.

Purdue 103, Alcorn State 48.

It actually could have been much worse. Purdue held a 59-17 lead at halftime and opened it up to a 60-point lead at one point (83-23 with 10:30 remaining in the second half).

The Boilers were led by senior guard E'Twaun Moore, who had 19 points, seven assists and six rebounds. Fellow senior JaJuan Johnson added 12 points and four rebounds, but many of the lesser-known Boilermakers were able to thrive against the inferior opposition. Sophomore guard John Hart scored 16 points in just 14 minutes, including connecting on 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Freshman forward Sandi Marcius contributed 12 points and eight rebounds in his 19 minutes.

Purdue moves to 2-0 and will next square off against Oakland Sunday in Mackey Arena.
