Big Ten Remains Ohio State's Domain

The Big Ten has been Ohio State's domain for the last seven seasons.

And while the Buckeyes still look like the team that could win another title and make the longest postseason run, this is a conference that has made competitive leaps in the past couple of years.

"I think everyone is getting deeper, have more experience, more skilled players," Purdue coach Sharon Versyp said at Big Ten Media Day. "I think you've had a lot of new coaches that have come in that have now developed their personnel and more or less their theme with their teams. And I think the Big Ten is going to be very strong from top to bottom."

Ohio State remains at the top. Three-time conference player of the year Jantel Lavender (pictured right) is back for her senior season hoping to make it past the Sweet 16. Point guard Samantha Prahalis is a junior, another year wiser. But Ohio State has lost to a lower seed five times in the last six NCAA tournaments and that track record of disappointment has reflected on the entire conference.
