Three University of Southern Mississippi football players were injured as a result of an incident off campus early Sunday morning.Linebackers Martez Smith, 22, and Tim Green, 21, along with defensive lineman Deddrick Jones, 23, were identified by the school as the injured players. The school confirmed that the three are currently hospitalized as a result of an incident that occurred around 2 a.m. local time in Hattiesburg, Miss.
All three were said to be in fair condition. The nature of their injuries was not disclosed.
