Pat Summitt, Lady Vols, Find New Big East Dance Partner, Louisville

So, it turns out that Tennessee coach Pat Summitt doesn't have a problem playing a Big East school with a male coach who has national championship experience after all.

The Lady Vols, who, under Summitt's reign, have made a habit of scheduling tough games in challenging locations, will open their season at Louisville's brand new 22,000 seat KFC Yum! Center Friday night before a sellout crowd.

"I think anytime you can take your players into an environment that's different and this will be the first time for this team this year to be in that kind of environment (It's a chance to) see how we'll respond," said Summitt earlier this week. "It's not about our first road game so much as what we learn from being in that environment and how we'll respond as far as that with each and every player that plays the game."

When Louisville coach Jeff Walz called Summitt about being the first opponent at the new arena, the Lady Vols coach quickly agreed. Along the way, a couple of side benefits were added to Summitt's saying yes, namely the game was added to CBS College Sports Network's schedule, albeit on a tape-delayed basis, and the sellout, in a large metropolis in a state that borders her state, doesn't hurt.
