Utah's Transition to the Pac-12 Conference Starting to Feel Real

Utah's transition to becoming a Pac-12 team is becoming a little more real for athletic director Chris Hill.

On Thursday, the conference announced that Utah would play in the South Division with UCLA, Southern California, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado marking the most substantial announcement the conference has made involving Utah since the Utes officially joined on June 17.

"It feels more real than it has," Hill said. "Now there are some specifics. We know our exact schedules are going to come out and all of those things make it more tangible. The excitement grows for me every time there's an announcement of some kind that's tangible, that makes us understand this is a huge change."

Utah will play the five teams in its division annually and play four of the six remaining schools on a rotating basis. Hill said that Utes would play in the Pacific Northwest in three of every four years and in the Bay Area in one of every two years.
