Caleb King Suspended for Two Games

Caleb King was suspended by Georgia for two games a day after being jailed for failure to appear in court.

In a statement, head coach Mark Richt said, "I expect all our players to take care of their responsibilities on and off the field. When players don't do that it damages the reputation of the player, our team, and our university. My goal is for Caleb to learn a lesson and for other players to learn from his experience."

King, the team's second-leading rusher with 228 yards, will miss games against Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Leading rusher Washaun Ealey will get the start.

King, the 11th Bulldog arrested since March, was stopped on June 20 and ticketed for going 76 mph in a 55 mph zone. When King failed to show up for an Aug. 6 court date, a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
