Austin Rivers, the shooting guard who is the No. 1-ranked player in ESPNU's Top 100 and son of Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers, has committed to Duke, according to high school coach David Bailey. The highly-sought-after player from Florida once committed to a closer-to-home school, the University of Florida, but broke the commitment in September. Duke, North Carolina and Kansas became the final contestants for Rivers' services.
"He picked Duke because of [Mike Krzyzewski] and his staff," Bailey said. "There is a ton of tradition at Duke, and it was the best place for him from a basketball and academic standpoint."
