Ramone Moore's 30 Points Help Temple Upset No. 9 Georgetown

Ramone MoorePrior to Thursday night's game with No. 9 Georgetown, Temple had scored in excess of 65 points only once this season. Ramone Moore made certain that the Owls would eclipse that mark -- however narrowly -- scoring a career-high 30 points in handing Georgetown its first loss of the season, 68-65.

Moore was the only consistent scoring threat for the Owls, who have struggled all year to put points on the board. Rahlir Jefferson and Scootie Randall each added 10 points, but Moore was the star. Scoring from the perimeter, the lane, and in transition, the Philadelphia native was unstoppable.

A year ago when these two teams met in D.C., the Hoyas sleep-walked to a 46-45 victory. Georgetown was again dazed by Temple, unable to find any solid source of points or an answer for Moore.

Temple threatened to run away with this one early after Jefferson's basket and a foul stretched the Owl lead to 11 with under three minutes to play in the first half. A couple of Jason Clark 3-pointers pulled Georgetown within seven at the break. Clark has been an able complement to Freeman all year, especially in an overtime win at Missouri when he went for 26.

It is glaringly obvious that for Georgetown (8-1) to be successful they need significant scoring from Austin Freeman. The senior guard and leading scorer for the Hoyas struggled all night, finishing with only 14 points on 6-of-15 shooting. Clark led the Hoyas with 15 points.
