Ravern Johnson, Renardo Sidney Tweets Reveal Mississippi State Turmoil

Filed under:

I'm slowly realizing that, in 20 years, Twitter dust-ups among college basketball players will be the crux of some sort of sociological experiment.

The latest snafu comes out of Starkville, Miss., where Mississippi State's Ravern Johnson and Renardo Sidney aired their frustrations after losing to Alabama Wednesday night.

About 30 minutes after the game, Johnson had this to say on Twitter: "Starting to see why people Transfer you can play the minutes but not getting your talents shown because u watching someone else wit the ball the whole game shooters need to move not watch why other coaches get that do not make sense to me."

Sidney, who has experienced his fair share of trouble on Twitter and elsewhere, retweeted Johnson. Fans begin criticizing the two in bunches, and their accounts were then deleted. There is no word on whether or not that was done willingly by the players.

Both Johnson and Sidney took final shots at Bulldog fans before signing off for good.

Johnson: Funny to see what all our so called #Fan Really think good to know

Sidney: It's a Shame how our fans turn they back on us when we need them the most.... #sad

It's understandable that their emotions were high after a loss, but it seems that even a modicum of good judgment by the two would have prevented this entire situation.

UPDATE: Mississippi State coach Rick Stansbury has banned his players from using Twitter, according to the Associated Press.
