Texas, it's time to get your due.After a season of stifling defense that would do Buddy Ryan proud and make Alan Dershowitz jealous, the Longhorns are finally No. 1 in our power rankings.
Meanwhile, the rest of the rankings continue to sort themselves out. The SEC and ACC continue to boast a pair of teams, as does the Mountain West. The Big Ten's usual compliment of top teams appear and the Big East remains the most popular party at the adults' table.
Ballots were tallied from college basketball editor Ray Holloman, editor Matt Snyder, national college basketball writer Terrance Harris and blogger Evan Hilbert. Points, listed in parentheses, were given in reverse order of rankings (16 points for a first place vote, 15 for second, etc.).
