After weeks of speculation, we finally have some clarity about the Michael Floyd situation at Notre Dame.
Though no definitive word has been handed down regarding the star wideout's status for 2011, the university's Office of Residential Life on Friday reportedly decided to spare Floyd from a full-season suspension--the punishment that many Irish fans had feared most of all. Instead, it appears that Floyd will have to simply perform community service, and possibly deal with additional punishment from coach Brian Kelly. Most importantly, however, it appears that Floyd will be available for the Irish when the season kicks off.
