Late this summer, LSU coach Les Miles came under fire for his handling of a true freshman offensive lineman by the name of Elliott Porter.
Porter was no star. But the kid had signed his National Letter of Intent--a document that committed him, literally, to LSU--in February, and he had enrolled at LSU in June. He was told he'd have a scholarship. He was told he was part of the team.
